EU Project Pravo-Justice Handed Over to the Penitentiary Academy of Ukraine the Equipment for the Creation of Educational Video Materials
On October 18, as part of the partnership, EU Project Pravo-Justice handed over to the Penitentiary Academy of Ukraine the equipment for the creation of educational content for employees of the State Criminal Executive Service, including a camera, laptops, a microphone, and other pieces.
“Improving the penitentiary system in Ukraine, introducing new approaches to raising the qualifications of the SCES staff of the State Criminal Court is in the focus of attention of EU Project Pravo-Justice. We hope that thanks to the provided equipment, it will become possible to create a course of lectures and a variety of educational materials which will be useful for the employees of the penitentiary system, and actually, for the convicts,” said Oleh Mykhaliuk, Key National Expert, EU Project Pravo-Justice.
For her part, Director of the Institute of Professional Development of the Penitentiary Academy of Ukraine Nataliia Naulik expressed appreciation to the EU Project Pravo-Justice for the material and technical assistance provided and shared their plans as to the use of the received equipment.
“We have many ideas as to how to improve the professional development system for the SCES staff, which we strive to implement. In particular, we want to make a course of short video lectures (3-7 minutes), in which employees of penitentiary facilities would give some practical advice. For example, through telling how to act, taking into account the existing regulatory framework and psychological factors, if a convict has used force or some kind of conflict situation has arisen. Such lectures can be revisited and replayed at any time. They may also help increasing security and safety of the employees of the penitentiary system,” said Nataliia Naulik.
